General Aim
To determine the burden, serum level, phenotypes and morbidity due to alpha 1 anti-trypsin deficiency among chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Specific Objectives
1. To determine the prevalence of alpha 1 anti-trypsin deficiency among chronic obstructive disease patients in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
2. To describe the phenotypic characteristics of alpha 1 anti-trypsin deficiency among chronic obstructive disease patients in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
3. To compare the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in patients with alpha 1 anti-trypsin deficiency, with those who do not express AATD. -
